Mobility, virtualisation, disappearance of the physical "company perimeter" are factors that disrupt traditional defense approaches. To counteract this, new endpoint security technologies should be considered in addition to traditional perimeter security. Examples of such technologies would be: boot security, data encryption, port control (WLAN, USB, Bluetooth, IFR), application firewalls, access control, anti-malware, anti-spyware, intrusion protection… Based on real-life scenarios, we will demonstrate various attacks and the role played by the above technologies in a coherent and efficient defense strategy, all in a simple, concrete and interactive way.
