How Virtual Browser works Virtual Browser does not execute core browser functionality on the user's end-point device (PC, laptop, PDA, or other) but on a dedicated virtual server sited on the enterprise DMZ. Only the presentation elements (graphics, sound, keyboard, mouse, printing and so on) run on the user device.
This architecture ensures that user devices are protected against contamination by web-based threats. Application execution and web-page rendering takes place on the remote server, and any attack is contained by the session-based remote virtual machine.High-risk web surfing can be executed in isolation from sensitive business applications such as CRM, online banking, workgroup and intranet access.
Users always work in their own personalized environment, even when connecting from different terminals and locations. PDA and smartphone deployments become significantly easier; site and application compatibility issues are eliminated with the browser core components running on the server, and Virtual Browser supports the Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari rendering engines.
The enterprise can apply their own filtering to inbound and outbound traffic.
Endpoint browser compatibility problems are eliminated through centralisation of browser, Java and plugin releases and updates.
